HOW MUCH ARE TIRES FOR MY CAR OR TRUCK?
Call one of our locations with the year, make and model of your vehicle and we will determine your vehicle’s tire size and provide you with a list of options.

DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE MY TIRES INSTALLED AT GRIFFIN BROTHERS?
No appointment is necessary, however, you may want to call the location nearest you to make sure we have the tire you need in stock.

DO I HAVE TO PUT THE EXACT TIRE ON MY VEHICLE THAT ORIGINALLY CAME ON IT?
We recommend you put the same size and speed rated tire on your vehicle that it was originally equipped with, but there are lots of options for brand and tread design. Plus sizing your tires is a popular trend (i.e. going from a 16” to a 20” wheel), even with the car manufacturer. However, the diameter of the tire must stay the same and the load rating of the tire must be comparable to the tires your vehicle was originally equipped with.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN TO REPLACE MY TIRES?
One indication is how your vehicle is handling. In wet weather, if the cornering is loose or sloppy, or hydroplaning is felt at any time, have your tires inspected at Grifin Brothers immediately. However, it is best to replace your tires prior to this point. There are tread wear indicators running across the face of the tread on all tires. It is recommended that tires be replaced prior to the tread being even with the indicators.

ARE MY DRIVING HABITS NORMAL OR SEVERE?
Your vehicle’s owner’s manual recommends you follow one of two types of scheduled maintenance plans. Your vehicle needs to be on a Normal Driving maintenance plan if your driving is primarily highway or interstate with only minimal stop and go. If you mainly drive in the city and have a good bit of stop and go, like sitting in traffic (extended idle time), which most of us in the Charlotte area do, your vehicle should be on a Severe Driving maintenance plan. Severe driving puts more of a strain on your vehicle’s engine, transmission, brakes, tires, and many other components.
